I'm happy that Montgomery County doesn't have any LEO staffing issues and instead can buy gadgets. Cool huh?

It makes sense, from an LE standpoint.

Sadly, I don't think any domestic LE agency operates blimps with searchlights. Because the sheer coolness factor of that outweighs the privacy concerns.

probably far cheaper than maintaining a helo with staff, don't see the big deal
well except the homeland security paying for it, that's kind of odd

I have seen other companies offering UAV's to police departments. Qube Homeland Security has been giving grants out from its start. They will pay for anything that can be remotely tied to protecting the Homeland.

These look cheap enough for other city departments to use: building, code enforcement, or vector control. I could see some HOA's in high end areas using them.

A herf gun would be better. It directs an EMP at your target.

Wouldn't that in a sense be invading your priva y if they are flying over head and happen to "glance" in your backyard.

The FAA has jurisdiction over the airspace above your house, you do not own it.

This is true, but it in no way diminishes your right to privacy. Also, typical general aircraft must maintain a 2000 ft altitude above any occupied area of land, including houses. Just FYI, so a drone creeping around your backyard very well may be illegal.

If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of payments.
