    xbox 360

    I just got an xbox 360 and I have to say I am starting to HATE it.


    I have an Onkyo receiver, Samsung TV.

    The Xbox 360 is connected to the receiver via HDMI cable. Then HDMI from the receiver to the TV.


    We will be playing a game and then all of the sudden the receiver will loose signal from the XBOX.

    I don't have any problems with the PS3. Or my satellite box.

    What gives? Any idea?

      Some of the Onkyo's have had suspect HDMI ports. Have you tried using a different HDMI port? or attaching directly to the TV?

          Yeah I bet its the tv before the xbox. Try not using the HDMI cables and see it it happens again. If it doesnt its your HDMI inputs for the TV

            It's the Xbox, they are a pile of ****. I had one and it broke on me, then i bought a PS3 and i haven't had one failure with it. If the PS3 works fine, then its not the TV. Just sell it and buy some more PS3 games.

              I have had about 3 of the older xbox's, those were junk.
              the newer slim xbox i feel are way better. mine has had no issues yet. I bought it wen it came out and it gets used alot.

                Go away fan boy!

                Make sure you check all your inputs like the guys said. Try the xbox to tv, if it works you know its not the xbox.

                Also, check your video settings in the xbox menu. Ive had problems with tv's auto selecting the preferences. For example it may be trying to look for a 720p signal instead of 1080p. Doesn't sound like an input problem to me, if it is an input problem you should be able to get it to mess up by wiggling the cable.

                you might want to try a different TV all together. Im not sure how the PS works, but the xbox will shut itself off if it lose's a signal. For example if you shut your tv off, the xbox will go into sleep mode. this may be happening for whatever reason.

                  I would see if it still does the same thing with running the digital out from the xbox to the receiver and the hdmi to tv only.

                    It's the HDMI cable

                    Just got new ones and I have the same exact issue on my xbox, it is worse on my pc... haven't tried anything else
