iphoto or aperture? which to choose and why?

I have both iPhoto and aperture on my macbook pro and i am trying to decide which app i want to use exclusively for my photo storing. i take a lot of photos and do some editing but not all that much. Should i just use aperture and forget about iPhoto? What do you guys do? I'm trying to get organized so any help would be great.

I'm a casual photographer and have a jillion images in storage. For minor editing, crops, levels, exposure, etc... iPhoto should do you well. Aperture is iPhoto on roids, if you paid for Aperture, I say keep with that.

Do you shoot raw? Stay with Aperture.

When you say photo storing, does that mean you want managed libraries exclusively? Or is your real question what application should you use to manage/edit your photos?

Either way, I'd go Aperture over iPhone. You simply have more capabilities for edits and management.

Personally, I use Lightroom with referenced libraries pointing to my manually managed photos stored in the following directory structure style:
      /<photos_dirname>/<camera_body>/YYYY/YYYY-MM-DD
