I usually don't upgrade my laptops once I have them. I use them for x years and then sell them and get something new again. Well, my laptop is only 6 months old, but I needed more RAM for all the virtual machines I run and other apps. So, while I was maxing out my RAM I figured I'd get the new hybrid drive that's turning heads. Many other hybrid drives have down falls that really make them not worth getting. However, the new Seagate seems to not run into these issues because it only uses the SSD portion of the drive as a read cache.
Well, so far I'm very pleased, to say the least. I get all the room I had, but a huge speed increase to boot when doing my normal day-to-day computing.
