Bah! its ok the only thing that looks new is the notification swipe down menu and a new text message alert feature. Not worth the update yet wait till October 14 for the official release and possible untether jailbreak.

It's not bad, I really like reminders based on location. Just ordered a 4S, so we will see how well Siri integrates a lot of these new features.

Why can't they give current iPhone 4 users Siri? Why does it have to be 4S?

Since I have the 3Gs, I might wait until there's a few more reviews, just to see if there's any bugs on my old school phone.

My contract is up, but I can rebuild this thing anytime I break a screen,LCD(twice) or need a new battery for $20 or less with Amazon parts. So I may wait for the 5 if my 3 makes it that long. Wasn't impressed enough to need the 4s right now.

Not impressive at all, looking forward to the 5S though.

Apple has not said if Siri will work on any other device. From a hardware stand there could be some limitations.

The iPhone 4 has the A4 chip. The iPhone and the iPad both have 512MB of ram.
The iPhone 4S will run Siri for sure and has the A5 chip a currently unknown amount of RAM. (1GB Rumored).

If the iPhone 4S turns out to only have 512MB of ram there is no reason an iPad 2 can at least run Siri.

I was not eligible for a full discount, I paid $549 for a 32GB White iPhone 4S. I was upgrade eligible until 02/12, and will probably pay the early upgrade price once again for the iPhone 5.

I've been told that Siri was available in the itunes store and that iphone 3gs and 4 users have been using it for a while. Now that it is being included, Apple has removed it from the store and sent notifications telling exisiting siri users that it will be disabled on Oct. 15. That tells me that it isn't a physical problem, but is Apple being Apple and wanting there to use Siri as a draw to get people to upgrade to the iPhone 4suck. Since the only thing the 4s is really getting over the 4 is a better camera and the faster processor, many people will be staying with the 4, but if you put Siri as a 4s exclusive, you'll get people to upgrade that otherwise wouldn't.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

There was a Siri app available previously, but it did not contain of lot of the integration and command recognition with iOS features. I suppose we will find out next week wether or not the new Siri built into the OS has improved voice recognition.

Would a version of Siri run on other newer iOS devices? Likely as you have said above. Clearly you are not getting a 4S.

I will be honest, after the keynote I thought the phone was neat, but did not plan on getting one. It may have been the events with Steve the following day that pushed me over paying the $250 early upgrade fee from AT&T.

Why do I get the feeling that if Apple just put the iPhone 4s in a new body and called it an iPhone 5 the same people that are unimpressed with the 4s would be praising a new bodied 5.

After being iPhone-less for 4 months after my 3Gs broke, I can't wait to receive my preordered iPhone 4s on the 14th. I have been using this crappy crappy LG Android on Metro PCS.

The update is nice but it doesn't feel like a new OS at all. It just feels like they added crap and tweaked the existing stuff to work the way it should have from the start. Meh...

I have had it for about a month and the notifications are a lot better but they can still do better.
