How can I run "The Hunter" on mac?

hey all,

So my friend recently introduced me to the game "The Hunter" and it's pretty fun. However I only have Mac's. I've read that the game can be played, but you have to use windows by using bootcamp. Well my mac has OS X and bootcamp, and trying to use it, I got the following results:

First it said I had to "Partition" my HD


after a few minutes this came up:


so i went to disk utilities, where it told me to verify the disk before repairing it. (the repair button is greyed out). so i clicked on verify and this comes up:


so I'm kindof stuck. anyone else played this on mac? any geniuses out there who can help? thanks!!!

First, you're going to need significantly more than 5GB for your Windows partition.

Second, you need to repair the filesystem on your disk.

Get your OSX DVD and boot to it (put it in the drive, turn your Mac on and immediately hold the 'c' key down).

Once that's booted, you'll be in the OSX installation environment - don't go further. Just go to the File menu (or maybe the Apple menu) at the top and find Disk Utility. From there, you'll be able to click the Repair Disk button. You can't click it now as the disk it is running against is the system disk - you need to be running an OS from a different disk to repair, which is where the OSX DVD comes in.

Once repaired, you'll be able to partition and then work through the Bootcamp wizard.

If it can't repair for whatever reason, you'll need something slightly more hardcore than Disk Utility - I'd recommend DiskWarrior. It's not expensive and it's been in my CD wallet since OS8.6.


If you don't want to dedicate a partition to Windows, you may be better off just running something like VMware Fusion or VirtualBox and virtualizing a Windows environment within OSX.
