    proxy site

Can anyone recommed a reliable proxy site that doesn't have any malware? I can't believe sears won't let me look at their web site, but that's the case if you're in some Asian countries.
    Thanks.

HMA (Hide My ***, stupid forum software censors the abbreviated word for jackass) may be what you are looking for: www.hidemyass.com

I use the Pro VPN version but they offer a free version too. The Pro version I use is a virtual private network that strips off your IP address, establishes a secure encrypted tunnel to any of the HMA servers in numerous countries, so if you are in a foreign location that doesn't allow you access to the US, say for your email, you can log into HMA's servers in a country that does. The server list is extensive: www.hidemyass.com/vpn/servers They have a server in Hong Kong and Singapore, or log in to a server in the US, Canada, almost anywhere. If you try it you may have to change the protocol from Open VPN to PPIP on the Dashboard settings page.

HMA is recommended by GFI's Sunbelt Software the Internet security software vendor that produces the Vipre Antivirus and Malware suite.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that website doesn't work. It's blocked, along with some proxy sites I tried. Despite how much I dislike Home Depot, at least I can order stuff from their web site.

If you are in an Asian country, I would more suspect that it may be your local government blocking those sites.

That's exactly what's happening with the proxy sites. The local government is blocking them. As for Craftsman, it looks like sears.com doesn't allow some foreign users on. I'll try the other suggestions today when the traffic is lower and the connection is faster.

Sears may have export restrictions imposed by the Commerce Department since they sell tools and electronics.

Or they simply may not want to deal with overseas shipping. When I put something on eBay, I won't ship outside of the US. Even Canada is a pain.

                      this one worked, thanks.

anonymouse was blocked along with other proxy sites. Damn, I hate censorship.

A discussion of proxies and tor hasn't been mentioned?! Local censorship is exactly why it was created. Install this and I think you'll be fine.

You can also try to ping the site to get the IP address, then put that in the browser. Sometimes they only block the host name :-)

Look up squid proxies. Using port 3128 is going to get you more places than port 80 which some places block.

Heheheh, that really does work sometime. That's when you know you've got knuckle-heads in your IT.
