Anyone use a Livescribe Echo smartpen?

I've been researching them on the internet. Amazon.com has the most reviews, but most of them are stale. Looking for some fresh info. I want to know how well they work with a Mac. Seems there are more problems with Macs as compared to PC's.

There is no pen on earth that can translate my hand writing in to text.

Then again my handwriting is variable, inconsistent, and arcane. That I can actually read it sometimes is amazing.

The real point is I have never found, though I have tried the ones that have come out over the years as the technology evolved, one that actually worked well enough to be even worth using, let alone shelling out money for.
