    Another Computer question.. Yay!

Ok, so I bought and installed that ATI radeon 5570 and it plays HL2 mods like a dream. I never knew they could look so good.

But as I was looking at the side of the box the card came in, I saw it said that a 400w PSU was recommended. To my knowledge, my optiplex only has around 250 or so watts.

    1) Should I upgrade the PSU? I've searched online and found varying opinions on the matter. For now, it seems to be working like a dream.

    2) If yes, what type of PSU would you recommend? From my google-fu I found that Dell PSUs are different from normal ones.

    Here is the computer: http://www.dell.com/us/dfb/p/optiplex-360/pd

Any links to power supplies would be appreciated.

If you start encountering weird issues, like a fuzzy screen, random crashes when you are stressing the card. Then it is something you should look into.

If the card isnt yelling at you, and the system is stable. I wouldnt worry about it.

I would buy the psu from newegg though if its something you need to or want to do.

agreed if the computer isn't freezing or crashing then you have enough power, the recommended psu is very conservative and assumes you have a lot of other devices.

issues might be more probable as the system gets warmer. might want to leave it running with a game or two open for a few hours just to see what you can expect.
