    Passwords

Well, I moved recently. Had my desktop computer in storage for about a year. Dumbazz me forgot the password and now can't sign onto Vista. Couldn't get Ophcrack to work as I'm not all that computer literate. Have a copy of the OS. Hate to reload it and lose all my great Asian porn and music. Any other recommendations? Service people want one arm, one leg, and one testicle.

I recently used this to recover a co-worker's computer.

That worked where Ophcrack didnt. I did a quick search on guides for the tool, and this was one of the first results. http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolso...shot-guide.htm

If that guide doesn't work for you, I'm sure there are others that will guide you through it. I was able to use the tool on a Win7 system, so Vista should be no problem.

Yep, used the http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/ option in my business many times to get around passwords. It actually launches a command line environment that allows you to change the SAM file values.

I will caution you to MAKE SURE that Windows has a clean shutdown before running this tool. Failure to do so can introduce unintended consequences.

              Good luck.
