Unbilievable new Video Game Technology. 100,000x better than current graphics.

This video is crazy, the future of video gaming right here. They say it has 100,000x the graphics of current games. Instead of using Polygon technology they use atom based graphics. Pretty cool stuff. I can't believe the detail. I don't think I would ever leave my computer if Starcraft 2 had this capability.

But it still seems a little far out for current hardware to run

    Pretty awesome though

You got me on atom-based reality, that's kind of sums it all up huh.

Polygon bashers, basically, and lots of "we aren't artists so we know this sucks" aplogies.

I'll spend my money on quantam-theory predictive graphic cards that render all spectrums, atomics, sub-atomics, and other energies a predictive step above real-time demand with unlimited detail. Where's the nearest Fry's.

Cool, hope it is for real, can't tell until the product is proved though....

It's been in production for years, and it's still vaporware. Basically the company is looking for a major game producer to buy the technology and incorporate it into an actual game engine. Considering the cash that these companies have invested into existing game engines(millions of dollars) it's unlikely we'll see this in a game any time soon. Especially considering that there are serious problems when it comes to actually animating anything with this technology, or simulated physics.

also, in my opinion only, a lot of problems with the video game industry is on graphics or hardware. A lot of developers don't realize it's not how great it looks or how fast it runs ( although that is supremely important) but the content/story, and ultimately how enjoyable the gun is.

What sucks is when it becomes an arm race to get the fastest, best looking systems, and then everything else gets sacrificed. When the industry tanks because they spend untold millions on making games look great, but play like ****....

This is nothing more than ray tracing and has been around for years. It is not used often in video games because it is very taxing on the system.

There is a video interview of the CEO where he runs this off of a dell laptop, Here is the link. Im very curious if this is going to be picked up. I sure hope it is. But Big Business doesn't like such dramatic change if in fact it truly works.
