Cheapest platform that will play angry birds

My son was using my gen 1 iphone to play angry birds. It gave up the ghost. Trying to figure out the most economical replacement. Best I have found so far is something like $80 for a replacement gen 1 iphone off craigslist or something. Anyone got any other suggestions? Is there an older android phone that would meet my needs. if it plays videos thats a bonus, but really just able to use either iphone or android app store is the main requirement.

Any suggestions? (I hate the idea of spending $80 on a 4 year old phone that probably has crap battery life)

I've seen Big Lots advertising no-name Android tablets.

Also, are you aware it will play in Google's Chrome browser on a standard PC, for free?

You can play Angry Birds on Google Chrome browser for free.

Google+ has angry birds on the game tab. Google Chrome Angry birds has extra levels.

Heh, should have been more clear.

Something to let him play angry birds on the couch with the touch screen interface so he won't steal our phones to play it.

Its not fixable. Water damage is not kind and iphone are not waterproof so much.

Beware the "cheap" android tablets. They often don't use the same type of touch screen and they have cruddy little processors. I had one and it barely had the horsepower to scroll from screen to screen.

Redex is right. I had a Archos tablet with a 600MHz Rock processor, it couldnt run angry birds at all. My phone now, a Moto Triumph, has a 1GHz Arm processor that works great. Just stay away from those old Rock cpus and get atleast android 2.2

Also, no-name brands frequently have unofficial android installed that lacks android market.
