The ones I use always have a lag. You can't use them, for example, for playing an electronic musical instrument. The delay drives you nuts. Well, it did me.

          How about an unnoticeable delay.

So far these are the best I can find.

Not likely to happen. Delay is a major problem when talking about real time audio. Anytime you add encode/decode (i.e. transmit audio via wirelss) it gets even worse. As I recall from some standards documents for telephony design, the absolute maximum delay tolerable is below 8ms. Anything above that threshold starts to cause perceived audio quality issues.

Now in reality... you are talking about metal detecting and not audio. Anything to encode the audio and transmit will work fine.

There will always be a delay with wireless, and it is more susceptible to interference.

Nothing in the specs that would indicate delay specifications. $128 is pretty steep, but not out of this world I guess. Wonder what the battery life is for the transmitter and receiver.

Found them. They are also half off at Amazon with free shipping.

                    Edit:

For anyone interested the latency on the kleer wireless is only 20-45ms.
