    Help-virus attacks?

A few days ago, I started receiving notices that my Anti virus was blocking URL/IP addresses. I get notifications about every minute or so telling me it's blocking so and so URL/IP. It's about 3 or 4 of the same one being blocked over and over.

When I search through yahoo or am just browsing, the results page I am directed to is some generic search engine page or yellowpages etc.

I'm running ESET NOD32 as my anti.

If you can't tell, I'm not really good at this. Any help on how I can stop these "attacks"?

I don't know if it's a virus. The notifications I am getting just say that URL and IP address xxxxxxxxx have been blocked. And as I said above, when I search something on my browser, the links direct me to a generic search engine. When I hit the back button, it doesn't go back to yahoo, it kicks me to another spam page.

have you installed any software recently ? Have you enabled some program's "auto update" or "search online" feature ?

Something is trying to phone home and Eset is blocking it.

            Malwarebytes
            SuperAntiSpyware
            Spybot

Install, fully update, boot into Safe Mode and run full system scans with each one. Browse to Bit Defender's web site while in Safe Mode and run their online scanner. While you are in Safe Mode, clean out as many temp files etc as possible.

Run all of those scans again in a regular boot up.

The bullets with my name on it I'm not worried about, it's the "To whom it may concern" ones I'm worried about.

TURN OFF SYSTEM RESTORE BEFORE YOUR RESTART. Then boot into Safe Mode and run the system scans. Choprzrul listed some good antimalware software plus ESET may be able to take care of it via Safe Boot.
