advice/recommend me a laptop for school

Im looking to spend no more then 700, and would like 4 or more gigs of ram, 500gb + mem, I don't know a whole lot about processors but want something decent, wont be playing any serious games so graphics card isn't a big issue, and would like a 14-15 inch screen, and needs to be lightweight to carry in my backpack, and yes I have done alot of research and shopped around online and been to costco, frys, bestbuy but I just cant make a decision, thanks guys

I've got an HP Pavilion DV7 and a backpack case for it. I'm quite happy with it. You can usually get them pretty cheap, certainly within your price range. It's been pretty durable, in spite of all the **** I've put it through in the past year. It's a generation old now, not even close to the newest badass technology, but it makes a hell of a mobile CAD workstation. Tears up the latest versions of Inventor and Solidworks.

What classes at school? If you will bewriting a lot, the keyboard is really important.
I wouldn't obsess over a large HD in the laptop - better to have smaller and back it up somewhere as school work colud be really important.

But HP has what you asked for for 599. HP Pavilion dv4t series has HDMI and a long life battery.

Microsoft is running a promotion right now I think where if you buy select Windows 7 laptops you get a free xbox360. I also heard that you can choose between that or 10% off your purchase. Its worth checking out in my opinon.

Just general classes at the moment, and yes I do alot of writing, and have been looking at the keyboards, the dv4t looks good for the price, and like the 7.25 hours of battery life

yep...this kind of series is really good in price and quality although the memory technology is still DDR2. But this is for school right ? its mean, you don't need good 3D graphics for playing games.
So, I guess if you choose this product, you will be satisfied.
On amazon, they offer $499.99, you should check it.
