Generally can't just swap a videocard in a laptop. Try re-installing the video drivers, if that still doesn't take care of it, I'd check the connectors for the LCD panel.

If it's a dell you've got a 75% chance you can replace the video card and I think a few of the alienware models can be changed. My dell video card gave up the ghost after 5yrs, got a new model pull out and I was up. Good luck.

This one is on board. Everything is connected well, reinstalled drivers. I guess my only other issue might be the display itself.

I gotta ask(just because I don't know exactly what you've checked and haven't), you mean you took the laptop apart and checked the cables that run from the board to the LCD panel itself? If you did and they looked connected, did you re-seat them before checking the display again?

Yes, disconnected and reconnected the cables/ribbon.

Do you have a desktop monitor you can hook it up to and see what it looks like?

Ok, success. I completely re-unhooked and re-hooked up everything and it's all good. Thanks for the tips y'all.
