this whole section just pisses me off as a consumer.Rob Dyer, senior vice president of publisher relations at Sony's U.S. games division, said only a few games have the audience loyalty and size to support a subscription service like Call of Duty Elite. Mr. Dyer said he is "very confident" other publishers will follow Activision's lead. "There's money to be made there," he said.Originally posted by leelawBecause -ohmigosh- they can add their opinions, too?Originally posted by SoCalSig1911Preppers canceled my order this afternoon because I called them a disgrace... Does anyone remember when Infinity Ward actually made an innovative WW2 shooter (and a BA expansion by Grey Matter with some of the most competitive team based multiplayer gameplay) because they were tired of rehashing Medal of Honor over and over again for EA?
But that's why I'm a PC gamer...Comment

If they want to charge a monthly fee for online play, then they can watch me NOT buy their game, and I will just find cracked servers like I can bet THOUSANDS of other people will too!
I support fair developers, but as soon as they try crapping on their fans all gloves are off!

What's everyong freaking out about?
"Activision Chief Executive Bobby Kotick said he isn't worried about pushback from gamers about the Call of Duty Elite fee because players will still be able to compete against each other online without subscribing to the service."
If I am reading this right, there will be a standard online multiplayer for free (similiar to now) with the option to pay an extra fee for the elite? Sounds like an option that lots of folks will pay extra for.Last edited by Freeballer; 05-31-2011, 2:29 AM.Comment

So basically they are going to give you a fraction of the multiplayer experience for free.....
I just hope other companies don't follow this trend.Comment

God knows there aren't dozens if not hundreds of other games you could spend your time playing instead.
Am I suggesting people play something different than the series of games that's had annual releases with barely any change for the past few years? OHNO!Comment
