    Xbox live membership

So I went on to the microsoft website a while ago when I wasn't sure I was going to renew my xbox live membership. It wouldn't let me take auto renew off and my current credit information.

SO I put in a fake expiration date on the current credit card.....

I had a new credit card sent to me since then from losing my wallet once.. it has a different exp. date but same number.

I was looking and my statement today and what do ya know... they automatically renewed my membership... which I don't care...

    But..

How in the hell did they do this with:

first off my billing address is wrong on their information (I moved 8 months ago)

The expiration date is wrong on their information.

They still charged me... just curious how?

should do a chargeback on the subscription if you really didn't want it.

plus the auto renewal rates are more expensive than the price offered through retailers(look around, although amazon is usually the cheapest)

u can actually give them a call to remove ur auto renewal, if u like u can cancel ur service and ask for a refund as well. They no later do the the internet option to take off renewal, must give them a call.

Another option that I just started using with my B of A is temporary CC Numbers. I can go into my B of A account and have it throw out a temp number which I can chose the limit amount and length of months its good for.

I had a similar experience recently at a LA Kings game. My girlfriend and i were approached by the time share cronies. They were offering us free shirts and hats plus tickets to the next game in return for visiting there time share.

Now this being my bday i was a little tipsy after a good pregame effort at yard house before hand. I had the bright idea when they asked for a cc to make a reservation to see there time share. I would use a recently received credit card which i had not activated but somehow they were still able to charge this card. New numbers and i gave them bogus ID info.
                Hi cap=standard capacity!!! 10rnd=reduced capacity!!!

You don't generally need to activate cards.

The sticker on the card that says to call and activate is for the CC company to know that you received the card. If you get a new card with the same number, it does not need to be activated.
