    Civilization Anoynomous

Got started on Civilization II when I was in middle school which quickly became an unmitigated disaster when I used to go to Civ IV LAN parties which would last through the night in high school. I just picked up the last copy of Civ V at Frys Electronics for 38 dollars and all I can say is relapse.

I'm currently playing as George Washington on a continents map and as of 1300AD, have managed to eradicate the Siamese and several city states consolidating my hold on the southern portion of my land mass in preparation for attacks against the Ottomans and Chinese to the north.

Are there any other Civilization players (addicts) out there?

I used to play it way back when, both Civilization and Civilization II. Luckily, I joined the military, which would have none of it

Apparently, the Marine Corps doesn't seem to mind it these days. My my, how the times have changed

I used to have the most motivated sergeant who had this daily routine which involved him getting off of work, then playing Microsoft Flight Simulator 2006 forever while subsisting on Pizza Hut bread sticks.

Good God, what has become of the Marine Corps! You people used to amuse yourselves by beating the crap out the poor harmless soldiers such as myself (or trying to, anyway ), and look at you now...

The damn thing is addictive though. I used to play it all night long and then get annoyed at the fact that I had to stop playing it and go to work.

I was an addict. Luckily, I'm reformed and spent all of my free time at work now. I think I have version 3 or 4 at home- that hasn't seen much play time yet

It was Age of Empires II for me. I was responsible enough to only play multiplayer during vacation weeks. My girlfriend would open up the office door in the middle of a game and I'd be like, "Yeah, I'm coming to bed in just a minute." And she'd say, "I don't care anymore, I'm going to work now." Oops, it's 7:00 AM.

I never bought 5; the last one I got was Revolution.

I bought Civ V and am playing through a game on the marathon settings, using the real world map. I'm just entering the modern era about 1000 turns into it....

Been playing since Civ. Liked SMAC better but still putting in 100s of hours per version.

I like civ but I really love the Total War series which is quite similiar. Basically you have all the civ turned based campaign map but when you go to fight another army you get to actually command your troops in battle. If anyone is interested they just put out their newest game Shogun Total War just a few months ago.
