    I run both Avast and Malwarebytes. I like em because the processor load seems to be light.

          If installed on your pc, the overhead is quite high, especially during scans. But mainly, in my experience, although it is decent protection from true viruses, it is not very good about protecting from, or removing, more common "spyware/malware". It is the worse I've seen in that regard. It is also among the priciest.

            Its always prompting you for something, Scan this, scan that, back this up, read this, click here to check for updates, the list goes on.

            With my ESET, the icon stays in the bar, and only tells you when it blocks something or when it was unable to update on its own.
