I'm interested, but I'm sort of curious about the plethora of tablet devices coming out in the near future (or already out). Dunno. I'll have to think about it. Still enjoying the iPad gen1.

You sync it just like any other iOS device. It's wonderful for movies - the screen's much more watchable than the phone/touch.

Mine's come in really handy but I've had some unusual needs... like getting stuck in a hospital for five days with no WiFi.

OMG, I don't know where to start

I was never an Apple guy and never had any of their previous devices but when the 1st iPad came out, I knew I "had" to have it. I had to wait a little bit more because I wanted 3G (internet everywhere, anytime). I finally did get the Big Kahuna (iPad 64GB WiFi + 3G) and have never looked back. Also, I have the grandfathered UNLIMITED INTERNET/DATA for $29 The other benefit of having the 3G is having GPS capabilities where it truly excels. It goes everywhere with me, I mean everywhere! Doctor's waiting room, jury duty, conventions, long road trips... The best part is when I can't fall asleep at night, I use it to read ebooks or surf CGN. Sure enough I am snoring within the hour. It has paid itself 10x over. I'm so glad I got it.

I'm looking into getting a 1st gen iPad. Just need something cheap since it'll be used for my 1-year old son to play with and to watch TV (I don't want him screwing up my iPhone 4 that has my work email and stuff on it... yes, a bit overkill for him, but easier on the eyes with a bigger screen).

Apple was selling the refurb 16gb iPad for $329 last week, but it looks like they sold out of them. I may consider a 32gb reburb for $429, if I don't find a good deal locally on craigslist first. But I don't see the need to spend more on the iPad2 for some extra features that I won't use or care about.

OK I'm a little perturbed with apple. After announcing they were shipping Mar 11 (which in the past meant you would have it on the 11th - like the iPhone 4) they today announced the online sales for the 11th are shipping the 16th. My distributor is waiting for his apple shipment but he isn't holding his breath for these until next week. Oh well
