Mine is on the way. Hopefully I will have it on Friday but my distributor wasn't quite sure. I went stupid on this one, Verizon 3g (i have a tetherable iPhone 4 on ATT) and 64gb. Then again, I'm not paying for it! Otherwise I wouldn't buy one.

Yes I'd love to have a new one. But mine is going strong and I love it. My wife thought it was a big silly iPhone but she likes the books on it far more then her kindle. Mine was bought about a month after they came out, and I've gotten my use out of it but for the $800/$1000 I'd rather have a new gun....and use my old iPad.

As much as I think it's neat, I really cannot find a useful place for it between my iPhone and MacBookPro.

Bought my wife the first gen Ipad... gotta say very handy for travel.. took it to Colorado mtns and never got lost looking for ghost towns and all that although wife wasn't real happy with some of the "roads" we took..
Over in Italy it was very helpful to figure out the train schedules ahead of time.. but we did have to buy access for internet at the hotels over there and it ain't real cheap ( ATT international worthless).. Still keeping my laptop ( PC stayed home this trip) but I think the Ipad can do 80% of what a laptop can do and very handy to travel with... Angry birds and solitaire and Ebooks for the long flights/train ride.. never really thought about needing a camera for it so no plans for a updated Ipad.. thats my Nikons job at a much better resolution

I have an iPad & a Macbook Pro (and a mac pro). I'm selling the iPad and MacbookPro for the air.

While I enjoyed the iPad for the few months I had it, it's just a large iPod touch. Both are useful as portable gaming / web browsing machines.

Unfortunately I need something light and with flash capabilities for class. Also the physical keyboard will allow me to take notes on the machine. Different strokes for different folks.

BTW, for those who want an iPad at a great deal, check out Apple's end of life on the current iPads. You can get a refurb iPad for $350 and it comes with the full manufactures warranty.

                    good business strategy.

they probably already had more features designed for the ipad originally, but decide to release multiple neutered version and each one would get get more features than the last.

Its not just with Apple. Dell, HP, Verizon, AT&T all do it also. We purchased 30-40 smartphones from Verizon about 8 months ago. No longer available and we now have to test and go through a new model every 6 months. Same with IPhones and others with AT&T.

Purchased 20 HP tablets, imaged them and set them up for deployment. 3 months later new Model replaces the old. Have to buy 10 more newer units repeat the deployment work. Thankfully Windows 7 has helped us out with the driver installs on like models.

Now we have 9 IPads Gen 1 with orders for possibly 20 Gen 2's since we have gone from WM6.5 to Ipad App for our sales reps.

They do and the great part is they don't try to hide it, like with the first iphone. People don't care they just want whats cool, especially apple people they're the biggest sheeple. GO ANDROID
