If you buy a Zoom today the upgrade to 4G is free. No real reason to wait if you are otherwise sold in the hardware/platform

What do you guys think of them? I have been meaning to stop by Verizon to check them out but I am afraid I will buy one lol. Maybe I shouldn't bring my credit card.

Loving mine. I went contract fee and paid full pop, but am able to use my Droid's data with a bluetoorh tether. Getting 500-ish kbps and no monthly fee. Dunno how this works with different devices, but if you have a rooted original motor droid, i'll walk you through the process.

If your Droid is rooted you might want to consider using wifi tether instead of BT. BT tethering maxes out at about the speed you're getting.

                      Better head to Sam's Club:

You might have seen Motorola's WiFi-only Xoom popping up at European e-tailers, but it's reportedly flying the red, white and blue today, having materialized at Sam's Club in the good ol' USA. Droid-Life stumbled upon several snapshots of these Xoom Wi-Fi vouchers, with a $539 price tag hanging above their heads -- plenty cheaper than a cellular Xoom, and also slightly more affordable than a similarly specced iPad 2. Of course, Sam's Club deals in wholesale merchandise, and even should this price be accurate the tablet may not be widely available at the same rate, so don't count out $599 as the Xoom Wi-Fi's MSRP. Meanwhile, let us know if you manage to find and ring one up at the register, eh? [Thanks, Michael]

For whatever reason, I'm unable to get my droid to tether with wi-fi. After a small but of research, it appears as though my particular phone, the original Moto Droid/Milestone, is physically incapable of establishing a wi-fi tether. If I am mistaken, let me know. I'd love to use wi-fi instead of bluetooth.

That's neat being Win7, but it's a brick with very little battery life.

I've had my Xoom for awhile now and it's going to hold me over until the next revision w/o any problem. Remote Desktop works well on it too. With the 1280x800 resolution you can actually use it w/o scrolling around.

Here you go. Follow the link and instructions and you should be good to go. Although the link speaks specifically about tethering the iPad via wi-fi it will work for any wireless capable device.

It’s OK if you don’t want to admit publicly that you were one of the 300,000 people to purchase an iPad on opening weekend, but here is a tip that will make your $499 worthwhile. And of course, this tip will also work towards wifi tethering any of your other laptops or mobile devices, but since...
