    Hotmail piss poor IT support

I've had my hotmail account since I was in high school, I'd say '99 or so, never had a problem with it until now. On the 11th I became unable to access my emails, I can log in no problem, I can see that I have new emails, both in my inbox and junk mail folder, yet I am unable to open them or delete them.

After about a day of this not fixing itself I posted about the problem on their customer service forum, its the only way to submit problems, it took until the 16th for them to give me any sort of answer, with me doing BTT about once a day.

They have pushed it to a higher support system but I have not even received so much as an acknowledgment of them receiving the message about the problem.

I have to say, this lack of timely customer support is extremely frustrating and disappointing. I'm not the only one with this same problem either, and it seems like no matter what problem someone is experiencing they tell the person to "optimize" their browser, even when the person clearly states that they are experiencing the problem on multiple computers on different networks are all that.

I'm seriously considering transferring all my email usage to my gmail account as a result of this.

gee, I write a few more complaint messages on their forum and post the rehash on here and now all of a sudden I can open emails again.

Still disgusted with their slow pace of action none the less.

I don't rely any free email account for any reason. Stick with your paid ISP email then you'll have more recourse it there are problems since you're paying for a service.

hotmail, gmail, yahoo mail etc etc all suck for any support because they are gratis

I cancelled my account when I called with an issue on our web hosting.

Couldn't talk to anyone who spoke decent English.

Cancelled my Capital One account for the same reason...

ya but saying youremail@roadrunner.com is like saying I have no idea how to internets in many cases.

Not once have I ever had a problem with gmail, or aim. they both are great if you have craptastic time warner.

I work for an ISP. We all speak english and we all use gmail for just huge email storage because you cant beat the GB's of space. But yeah, we all speak english and we have a ton of customers who keep us for that reason.

Who still uses hotmail? It seems like aol, yahoo, and hotmail are all in the same fail-boat.

I stopped using hotmail after my contact list had unauthorized access due to weak security. Everyone on my list got spammed in my name. The term "hotmail" sounds so old and obsolete anyway. Time to move on..
