    email timing

Could someone help me with an email question? Some sent me an email from their gmail account last Friday, when I turned off my computer late Sunday night I still didn't see the email in my Outlook inbox. This morning (Monday) when I strated Outlook I saw the email being received.,

Can this email header info tell me where the delay was?:

BTW, the email was a forward of a blackberry email -

Your computer might not be setup to auto send/receive when you are not working on it. I leave my computer on all weekend and the mail doesn't get received until I come in on Monday and start working.

The header doesn't really show enough info to tell where the delay was. There are a couple of server signatures there that show Sun in their reciepts but that begs the question of what happened Friday and Saturday. email usually propagates thru the servers very quickly ( a matter of minutes at most ), so it got held somewhere.

Why pray-tell are you using Outlook? Outlook and IE are 2 of the most insecure programs available. And are the biggest targets for viruses and malware. Do yourself a favor and try the offerings from mozilla.

      HTH.
