    My New Computer Build

Just built a new gaming rig, it's turned out to be quite the monster. Big thanks to CGN member automatikdonn for all the help with it!

    Here's the specs:

-Antec Six Hundred Black Computer Case (has 2x 120mm front fans, 1x 120mm rear fan, and 1x 200mm top fan )
-ASUS Crosshair IV Formula AM3 AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
    -AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz 6 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB
-ASUS EAH6870 DC/2DI2S/1GD5 Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity
    -G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory
-2 Western Digital Caviar Black WD5002AALX 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drives running in RAID 0
    -Windows 7 Home Premium

It runs absolutely amazing... can run Starcraft 2 on all Ultimate settings never stepping a beat below 70 FPS... at my door for $1300. Now all I need is my M&P 45 that's in jail and life will be perfect

The only thing that got me really excited about those pictures is the wiring scheme you have. How the hell did you get those wires so organized? My antec 900 has a 200mm fan as well :-). You're systems never going to get hot, ever!

I have an idea on how they got organized...

Probably not anytime soon... it really doesn't have any need at this point.

              Looks good.

I will be upgrading to an AMD 1090T from an AMD 9950 soon.

Also, how are the temps on the HD 6870 under load?

I haven't kept up in the past year or so, but has AMD closed the gap on Intel? My last system has an i7 that chews up anything I feed it, then asks for more.

Nice rig. I wish that I had spent a bit more on my case. Smaller fans are pretty noisy, so you'll probably love that 20cm fan.

Perhaps I missed it, but which PSU did you go with? I'm pretty happy with the Silverstone 1000W that I found on Newegg for $89.

After a few days of breaking it in, I haven't seen a hair over 48*C under as much of a load as I can throw at it.

It's chewed through everything I've thrown at it so far... and as of now yes, AMD is caught up for the most part, however some of the Intel's are faster... but the price difference isn't worth it IMO.

It's very great for cooling, however it is rather loud... but I would much much rather a little louder and cooler than quieter and more hot

I got an Antec 750W PSU that is more than sufficient.

Does the blue fan make the air cooler or does it have UV which kills processor eating bacteria?

LOVE those cases. They stay so cool, temperature wise.

I've got a similar one, but not the same.

Why would you build such a nice computer and put home premium on it? -_-

The only major differences between premium and pro that I would use is remote access... which has already been enabled on my machine.

I got one of these for my last build, the CPU doesn't go a hair over 60c at full load with the stock cooler.
