    Internet Explorer Help

So this is embarrasing, but I can't seem to find anything even remotely helpful on Google.

I recently performed a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

Even though IE is the exact same build as the one I have on my work laptop, the one I'm using at home must be the "Enhanced Nag" edition.

I can't get the damn cert error bar to go away. I've tried allowing older forms of SSL/TLS, I've turned off cert error checks, tried turning off protected mode...etc, etc. Nothing friggin works.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

        I use both.

        FF is my 'work' browser.

        IE is my casual browser.

By using both, I can keep two separate Google accounts open, and segregate my windows properly.

Which is why I want to fix IE.

I cant read what it says in the error message. The screenshot is too small. For the record, you can setup firefox to use multiple accounts.

            It states:

"To protect your security, Internet Explorer has blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors. Click here for options..."

No, I can set up Thunderbird with multiple accounts, but TBird sucks. Firefox will not open more than one google account for me without forcing me to switch.

Easy, use firefox and chrome. I believe both firefox and chrome have add-ons that will let you have more than one email account open in different tabs.

Ditch IE for Chrome then, problem solved. The only time I will even use IE is when the site I'm going to requires it, otherwise it's just a security risk.

Last time I used Chrome, I was less than impressed. I'll play with it some, but that doesn't solve the original issue.

Army gunsmith, thanks for that recommendation. I'll have to check it out.

Ricky, thanks for the link. I tried that previously with no luck.

I mean you can set up firefox with different profiles and they will run independently of each other. Separate bookmarks, cookies, etc.

Internet explorer...you could try resetting it but you will lose your settings and bookmarks. The option is under advanced settings.

I must have had a seriously wonky install...the problem went away after I reinstalled Windows (which was due to reasons unrelated to the IE issue). Friggin' weird...

Personally I would go with Google Chrome... I've never had issues with it in windows or in Linux.

Edit: Here is the explanation of how it works and why it is better: http://www.google.com/googlebooks/chrome/

Use Opera if you dont like Chrome but hate IE.
