    Help

I've got a desktop computer that I leave on at all times. Last night I heard a few I guess you call them negative tones for lack of a better description. I didn't think nothing of it, thought it was from logging on to yahoo messenger from another computer while another is logged in. Today complete blue screen, so I unplugged and rebooted and did the hard boot thingy (dell) but no help always the same blue screen. Disconnected monitor cord and got no source detected.
Will reloading xp help, I have no rescue disc, I'm getting no words at all no boot up screen, nothing just goes blue.
I might try pulling the power cord off hard drive I think that has worked in other puters.

    Thanks for your help

Can you boot into safe mode (press F8 while the computer is booting)?

Any chance you can upload a video from a cell phone or something?

If you remove the power from the HD, and it's doing the same thing, logic would dictate it's not the HD. When the HD isn't present (and assuming you don't have any other boot devices), you should get a message about a boot device not being found.

If the screen just stays blue, that would indicate something else is wrong (especially if you don't see any POST messages).

Sounds more like an issue with your video card to me.

So it magically started working not sure why. theories
              1. I reset the monitor to factory specs 3 year old son may have blacken screen, but it gave a clear no source and dell symbol when not connected to computer.
              2. Powering down the computer and disconnecting he HD for an extended period of time reset everything.
              3. Computer gnomes were tired and just needed a rest.

When it started working I immediately backed up everything important, and ran an updated virus check, but got nothing.
