Something really weird happened. We have a family cell plan with 4 phones and unlimited data from sprint. All of a sudden today all the phones would drop calls in the first 45 seconds of a call. So we call Sprint and they chat a bit and ask, "so someone in your family works in the gov't?" No no one works in the gov't, they say, "well then you work for a private contractor that does gov't work". Nope, no one works in, for, or any way connected to gov't work.
so we ask why whats up with that? Sprint replies, "oh sorry those are confidential procedures we are not allowed to discuss" OK anyone have a clue?

I do and I've never heard of anything like that. Probably someone on the c-care line making stuff up?

I work in the cell phone Industry.. I am really not sure why they would say that , It sounds like they seen something on your account or you said something that made you sound goverment ( zero , charlie , xray alphanumeric code etc ) Maybe your address looks goverment or looks like its on a military base ( fort campbell ky etc). Could have been a new rep that read something wrong. In any case i would not worry about it , most cell phone companies offer discounts and a few cheaper plans to the goverment.

Here is a question for you.

Check your bill , Do you get a discount on your plan every month? If so call customer care or go to a sprint store and ask them what kind of employee discount you have on your account. They should tell you. Find out what percentage discount it is , Discounts range from approx 1% to 25% . If its not a company you recognize have them look the company up that you work for and find out what percentage discount your company gets. Change it if needed =)

unless sprint is giving network prioritization to government employees in lieu of it's network issues of late it's probably just a mistake.

figured it out I live next to Miramar Air Base and a tower, probably on base has gone bad so they can't discuss towers on military base and this would be my location so they figured gov't employee
