    Best drive image software

I have been out of the tech industry for many years now. When I was still in the business, it was Ghost or Drive Image Pro (version 4, I think). What are you guys using now?

    What I am looking for:
-I upgrade my PC-based machine every two to three years
-I want a good baseline to fall back on if needed
-I want to make incremental images as needed so I have a more recent image to fall back to
-Being able to edit files or folders within images would be nice, but is not a must
-I will back up my images to a USB or NAS device and want to restore from the same device
-I keep my My Documents folder on a separate drive and back that up differently, so it is not an issue for my drive image(s)

    Thanks in advance.

I just use the drive duplicator at work. Makes things a whole lot easier.

Use dd for a direct bit by bit copy of any hard drive.

Acronis products are fantastic. Use it at work and home.

Even for home use, I recommend the business version.

Acronis is low cost and no error software. For the novice, it's an A+

+1 for Acronis. Seems to be an excellent image program. While you can only install it one machine per license, you can use the CD to manually create backups for other PC's.
I haven't had to use Acronis to restore a system yet (yay) so cannot speak to that.

Here is a link to a possible issue with file sharing.

I seem to be experiencing this error, although I'm not yet convinced that Acronis is the culprit in my case. Haven't had time iron it out. When I first installed Acronis, file sharing worked just fine for quite awhile.
