Color touchscreen tablets for under $200?

I've notice the market has been flooded recently with low cost ($100-200) touchscreen tablets, many out of China. Since most of my textbooks this semester are digital, I'd like to snag up a tablet, but don't want to plop down much cash until the color e-ink displays are mainstream.

    My only requirements:

    1. The screen is full color, 6" or larger

    2. Battery should last at least a few hours

    3. Powerful enough to flip through ebooks without taking forever for the pages to load.

OS doesn't matter, looks like a lot of them are running Android, which would be fine.

not to thread-jack, but I'm also interested in the same thing, but with the capability of playing back movies with a good refesh/frame rate and that has a good looking picture.

For movies I have one of these:
Aluratek Cinepal 8.9" 4GB All-in-one Personal Media Player
Kids use it on long road trips, Very happy with it.

To the OP how about a netbook? I pick up a used one on ebay for $150. May not be the best for ebooks but would give you other advantages.

A buddy of mine got one for 100 bucks was originally 200 but he is going to return it.

These cheap ones are no galaxy tab or I-pad.

In time they will get better but they have lots of problems, takes for ever to connect to Wifi even if your are 10 inches away from the router. Very sluggish to not responding touch screen, or very slow load times even for simple images.

Best bet try one in the store first before you buy, their is even a bunch of youtube reviews with said tablet.

I really liked the I-pad or Galaxy but for 500-600 bucks they are expensive toys and unless you got money to burn.

So I would hold off until they actually make some better more reliable units to compete with the big boys.

Here's what I ordered. Fit right into my budget.

They had a coupon code that brought it to $212 shipped via DHL Express 3-6 days. I should see it within the next 2 weeks if all goes to plan.

Mine and my wifes last 3 computers {deck & lap} have been Dell, and I will not buy anything else... I us to have nothing but trouble until I switched and now that Staples is carrying and servicing them, it is even that much better... You'll pay a little more but then you get what you pay for most of the time...
