I'm getting tired of all the polite apologies the software gives me, "oops we messed up your browsing again sorry, do you want to try it again?".
Strange, you may need to clear out your profile. Just be sure to backup your bookmarks.

Something I haven't seen here but has caused problems for me is gmail. Gmail uses tons of javascript which is executed locally on your computer. Being able to provide a rich experience similar to a desktop application requires that it use a substantial amount of resources. I have found that if I don't leave gmail open, my memory usage stays consistently low. If I use gmail all day, I can top out at 1GB by the end of the day with resolution only coming from a firefox restart.

As live.com and yahoo.com mail mirror gmail's functionality, they too may cause memory issues, but I haven't used them so YMMV.

Hope this helps... or at least points you in the right direction.

The beta sounds like a good suggestion. Chrome also is very good on resources.
