I've cut holes way bigger in my apartment walls before, and it's very easy to make it look like it was never cut when you move out. Just save the piece that you cut out (usually a 3-4 inch circle for the TV cables) and when you move out, just brace it back into the drywall using a thin piece of wood behind it... paint stirring sticks work really good. Then use some putty and fill in the gaps, use a scrunched up paper towel to give the putty some texture, then use a flat putty knife or blade to smooth out the high spots. Pick up a small quart of flat white paint that matches your apartment wall and paint over the putty on the drywall. The next day, it'll look like you never cut a hole out.
Maybe a half hour's worth of work for a year (or more) of clean looking, cable-hiding, TV watching setup in your apartment
