Which one is better
Vizio E370VL or LG 42LD400 which is better?
we bought both on black Friday and we are deciding to only keep one? both are 60htz and specs are pretty much the same except Vizio is a 37" and LG is a 42". Everyone keep telling me both are no good cause its only 60Htz can please advise?

Generally speaking, 60 hz scan rates are "old technology" and were replaced by 120 hz systems probably 3 years ago or so. That said, my current tv is a 47" Vizio at 60hz and I'm pretty happy with it. All other things being equal, bigger is better.

120hz is only needed for 3D. If I were you I'd keep the LG.

60Hz is older technology, and you can tell the difference when you put a 1080p high def signal to the TV (PS3 game or Blu-Ray movie). My 50" Samsung 720p 60Hz plasma works great, but my 60" Samsung 1080p 120Hz LED looks so much clearer & more crisp with PS3 games or 1080p movies. It's also easier on my eyes too, but that's a plasma vs. LCD/LED thing there.

If you're happy with how the TV's look and output the stuff you plan to watch or use the TV for, then between the 2 brands I would keep the LG as I like their technology with panels over Vizio.

i like the LG size however to me the LG lacks a little definition the vizio has

vizio is fine but is a second tier manufacturer, with LCd 120hz or 240 hz are supposed to smooth out motion lag effect, it has nothing to do with 3d, by the way 3d tvs even if you dont care about 3d have good quality features. All get the biggest screen size you can.Also i prefer LED lit LCD's

Keep the LG. True 1080 HD doesn't start until you reach 42" anyway. The 37" Vizio may claim 1080, but it's not. Physically speaking, you cannot fit 1080 pixels vertically on a 37" widescreen TV.

With that said, the LG has slightly better specs than the Vizio, when comparing those two models. In the long run, you'll be a lot happier with the LG than the Vizio.

??? You can easily fit 1080 pixels on a 37" panel... Heck the screen I'm typing on is 24" and is 1920x1080 resolution. Check the specs, http://www.vizio.com/e370vl.html#support 1920x1080 native resolution.

Keep the LG. Go through the color adjustments - it probably isn't calibrated properly.
Regarding 60Hz, you won't be able to tell the difference unless you place a 120Hz TV next to it.

That would be due to the higher resolution.

Yes it does, you need a minimum of 120hz for 3d tv.
