    Dell Power Edge 1800 server

A family member is downsizing their business and asked me to dispose of some computer equipment. One of the items is a Dell Power Edge 1800 Server.

Does anyone know if these things have any value? I know nothing about computers let alone a server ...

Not much. Depending on the configuration, it can be anything from $200 to $400. I doubt you'll get more for it. Check the prices on Ebay.

It's 3 generations out of date.

Maybe a couple hundred if the specs are good...

Post 'em up and we'll let you know.

If you find the right person it sure can be of some value. Even though its old, depending on the configuration you have, some people buy old serves like this as an entry level lab visualization project or for a home server project.

Don’t scrap it. Craigslist may be an option. Find a computer forum, just a like a gun forum, someone may just want to swoop it up.

Ill take if off your hands if you just dont want it. =)

Anyone interested in doing any trading for it? I could use a rem 870 barrel, a rem 1100 barrel, 9mm 1911 barrel, Bomar style rear sights, stainless steel SVI magwell, SVI interchangeable trigger assembly, 10/22 bull barrel and stock, or whatever ....

I don't need it already have a couple servers at home.

Give me the service tag #, I can try and help you sell it.

I dont want any money for helping either.

I'm interested in it, depending on the cost.

You'll find the service tag either in front under the bezel or in the back. It should be 7 numbers and letters, if I recall correctly.

Of course, the info on Dell's site pertains to when the server was originally shipped. The configuration can be pretty much anything now.

Truth, but it's a good starting point.
