How come when I click on threads in Calguns I sometimes (if not always) see it goes to the "static.ak.fbcdn.net" on the lower left hand corner super quick, and then it brings me to the Calguns thread I clicked on?

I googled it and it says it has something to do with facebook......

Is facebook somehow inserting themselves to cache my browsing habits?

it has to do with the CG1.1 skin, http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=297553 . Facebook features are integrated into it. Switch to the CG1.0 skin and you get rid of all that extra crap.

It's delivered using a CDN (content delivery network). Basically, a caching server.
