Minecraft: Great sandbox game, currently free

Ladies and gentlemen, there's a great game developed by some cool guy (I forget his name right now, and it's called Minecraft. Like I say, it's a sandbox-type game, where you just play around without any final goal. Like the name suggests, you can certainly do a lot of mining, but there's lots of other things to do as well.

Anyway, the fellow who developed (and continues to develop) it is allowing you to play it without buying it right now! He got so many new customers that his server crashed hard, and he no longer has the ability to accept money for copies of the game, or authenticate people who've paid. So, until he gets a new server up and running (which will take several days at least), he's letting us all play for free. I encourage you all to check it out, and catch Minecraft fever just like I have!

Yeah, the game automatically saves whenever you hit Esc to access the menu. Couldn't be simpler.

ok so what do you do in this game? All ive been able to do is pick some flowers and kill a pig

you dig and dig and dig, and you can collect the cubes you dig and place them in different areas. you can build networks of caves or a castle on a hill. its pretty fun. left click digs and right click places blocks.

I got it now. Had to loo it up. You can make swords and stuff too. Pretty awesome game for how basic it is.

you can exit out of the program using the task manager and reload a save from before the fire. that whole thing was staged
