    Strange Worm/Virus?

The last few days I've received emails with a single link from 2 friends that did not send them. They have gmail and yahoo accounts. The worm/virus also sent it to 2-3 other people that I have talked or have been group emailed with before.

Like an idiot I clicked the links on my iPhone twice (I check my email first thing in the morning when I wake up in bed)

Anyone aware of some worm/virus/whatever the correct terminology for it taking over? Pretty smart either way, it groups contacts and emails them to small groups instead of the entire address book.

Basically your part of a hackers bot net right now. They can use your connection to send information.
The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

I have had the same thing. Only 3 emails and not close together in dates but same.

We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

There is a new one out called W32/VBMania@MM that is a little like the old address book spams we used to see. Here's a link:

        McAfee provides a stinger here:

Yes, a new one is out there.
I'm getting multiple mailings from several people.
The easy way to spot them is the recipients' address list, address are sent alphabetically, broken up into about 8 addresses per batch so they don't hit the spam filters.

This thing swept through our company last week. In my case, I received an email from somebody I didn't even know, with a link to a PDF, with a subject line of: "Here it is..." or something like that. Spidey sense immediately alerted. So I right-clicked the link, and saw the file extension was actually "...blahblah.pdf.scr", so knew it was a something nasty, and trashed it.

Within 5 minutes, that same mail was flying fast and furious throughout the company because of all the suckers who clicked on that link, and opened that file...

IT is telling everbody who opened the file to re-image their drive.

              What a PIA!

I received this warning from McAfee the other day. Does this sound like your "worm"?
