virtual box for Mac. Any good?

I downloaded vmware fusion to try it out but the trial period ran out now. Has anyone tried virtual box for Mac? is it any good? should i even try it or should i just buy fusion?

I have a 2010 macbook pro and plan on running windows 7 pro 32bit


my sister is a student so I'm thinking of buying it using the student discount
fusion for $39.99

I tried Virtual Box about a year ago. The only reason I didn't use it is because the optical disc drive driver within the VM wouldn't let me rip discs. Other than that, it seemed fairly stable.

I just use Parallels since it's cheap enough with our Campus Site License.
