I use Xmarks

Here’s how to move your Firefox Bookmarks from one computer to another.

1. In the Firefox menu, select Bookmarks.
2. In the pulldown menu, select Manage Bookmarks.
3. A popup box will appear. This is the Bookmark Manager.
4. In the menu of that popup Bookmark Manager, select File and then Export.
5. This will create a bookmarks html file. This is the file you need. Save this file and transfer it to your other computer however you see fit.
6. Now you’re on your other computer with the bookmarks html file.
7. Open Firefox.
8. Re-open the Bookmark Manager by re-doing steps 1 through 3 above.
9. In the Bookmar Manager, select File and then Import.
10. You want to “Import From File.” Find the bookmarks.html file from your other computer and open it.

In case you are not familiar with X-marks (formerly Foxmarks), you can synchronize Firefox bookmarks via their server. This allows you to sign in to your personal bookmarks on any computer with internet connections. Works great, and keeps multiple laptops within your home/office synced with your bookmarks.

x3 - I use to sync bookmarks on 3 different machines and it's solid, reliable, non-intrusive and kind of awesome.

Not a fan of other people knowing what I have bookmarked (yes I know Xmarks lets you opt-out, and they only provide "anonymous, aggregate" information on your bookmarks to others, but the fact remains that they themselves can see them.)

Firefox Sync (by Mozilla themselves, formerly Mozilla Weave) has come a long way, and is what I use now. It doesn't work with browsers other than Firefox (like Xmarks can), but it encrypts everything it uploads (including bookmarks). It also syncs passwords (like Xmarks), and browser history and open tabs (which I don't believe Xmarks does.) There is no "auto suggest" like Xmarks obviously (since they don't have access to your bookmarks), but I prefer it that way.
