I have a HTC Sense and it's funny because that's the opposite of me. The original operating system was slow and would crash on just the standard apps. With the new download it's faster and more reliable. What version OS are you running? My firmware is 2.1 and the SW is 2.36

You could over-clock your CPU on your Droid to get it snappy! Worth the risk? You tell me lol. Do you close apps after? Maybe it's time to reset everything and start fresh.

That's what I'd do if its running slow, backup everything to Google and hard reset the phone.

Sorry for my noob question as I don't yet own a Droid phone, but when you guys download updates and such are you connecting to a PC/Mac or are you able to download firmware just using the device?

You just have to stick it on the sd card and power the phone on while holding volume down. Official updates will come to you over the air.

Can you run 2.2 on it? 2.2 is supposed to be 450% faster than 2.1; big number but that is what the reviews are saying.

Hmmm, my Droid Eris is a little faster and much less frustrating after the recent upgrades they sent me...

                        Firmware: 2.1
                        Software: 2.36

I almost couldn't stand the phone before because the interface had such a "lag" to it. That lag disappeared with the upgrades.
