    Spybot - search and destroy
    Ad-Aware
CCleaner (don't forget to back up your registry before doing a full clean)

Run em. Should speed things up a bit. Can't really give out specific information without a more specific problem.

On FF it keeps telling me that Googles certificate is not valid and that it may be a proky site or something like that,

IE keeps telling me that it cant run a runtime library or something like that "runtime library error r6034 C++"

I run Microsoft Essentials on my PCs.

I will move this to the tech forum, you will probably find more answers to your question there.

I download all of these from www.download.com

The software should ask you if you want to back it up before proceeding.

Scan your machine for spyware first. Add Malwarebytes to the list (www.malwarebytes.org).

Ccleaner is a pretty good registry cleaner. Also, make sure your Windows and applications are updated.

And stop browsing those sites you know you shouldn't be browsing

Yeah, since Google has a great reputation for security and admitting/fixing problems in their "beta" software
