Help IPOD my pants! SOLUTION FOUND! post #20

    1) My home PC crashed and I lost my ITUNES library.
    2) I called Apple and was able to get my purchased music back on my laptop ITUNES so I'm good there.

What I can't figure out is how to get my entire library from my IPOD TOUCH back on to my laptop. If I try to sync, it wants to erase my IPOD and only sync what is currently in my ITUNES which is only my ITUNES purchased
    music.

    Am I screwed?
Do I have to rip all my CD's on to ITUNES manually?

If any of you guys know the secret please share.

I don't think you can retrieve your library off an iPod Touch since it doesn't support disk mode.

You can only download your purchased once unless Apple authorizes you to retrieve them again. This is why iTunes has an option to copy all purchased content off your iPod/iPhone.

I had that happen as well, I know if you do a google search you can find a program. I did I just dont remember the name. I do still have it installed on my laptop. Unfortunitly it is at my office and I will not be there till monday. If you still looking then I will try to post the name. It also will convert all those aac files to standard mp3 so you can play them on anything.

That would be great if you could. I just tried Sharepod with no luck unless I'm doing it wrong. The file looks like this.

I have never used that program, The one I had was super easy. Wish I could remeber the name. I do remeber paying for it, but I used it to tansfer all the files to all my computers. I'll ask my daughter if she remembers as she had the same issue not that long ago.

Don't see why not. It reads the file structure of the device like a hard drive.

Its free and easy, give it a try.
