lets see your custom etched PCBs!

i just finished a really cool one today. the traces are on one side, and the component side has a gnarly design etched into the copper.

SCALIA: WTF are you talking about? We can incorporate it under due process. I hate due process and I even think that.
    GURA: Uhhh
SCALIA: Are you trying to get a job at a law school?
    GURA: ....Oh s***
SCALIA: SERIOUSLY STFU IF WE USE PRIVILEGES AND IMMUNITIES THESE F***OS WILL LEGITIMIZE EVERYTHING STFU STFU STFU
GURA: But you hate due process
    SCALIA: I LIKE IT NOW

Last time I etched one myself I was in high school. Using the online protoshops is pretty cost effective, especially since 4 mil traces are difficult to draw.

still working on mine. making a sound card o-scope probe. I'm gonna try to use the laser printer toner transfer method and make a 2 sided board...

Why waste my time when I can get someone else to do it for me?

... either that, or you get a serious high from the nasty caustic chemicals.

I remember drawing on PCB and then dipping it into acid etch to make my own circuit boards. Awesome times in high school. Do they even have those programs anymore nowadays?

Same here, did the acid bath etch after drawing on the copper with a permanent marker. Was told not to let the acid boil, it gets dangerous.. so next thing I know, the acid is boiling. Yikes! Turned it down, nothing bad happened. Lab partner and I had a laugh about it afterwards.
