    need help with an old laptop

    I'm trying to help a friend with an old laptop get on the internet. Does anyone know of either a USB or PCMCIA wifi adapter that will work with Windows ME?

      Any of the USB 802 adapters will work with the correct drivers. I'd go with a namebrand like logitech, linksys, etc. The drivers should load Utomatically

          I have some old PCMCIA wireless cards laying around which I have no use for.

          I believe they work for Windows ME I can check when I get home if you like.

              Tell your friend to upgrade to Ubuntu at a minimum.

                              Dual boot? What for? ME was the biggest mistake in the history of Microsoft. Even Vista was less problematic.

                                  just upgrade ME to WinXP. It doesn't require much more recourses

                                          If the laptop is that old where it's running ME, I don't think it would meet the bare minimum to run XP and even if it did it would be EXTREMELY slow.
