Same here. Haven't had any problems with the iPhone or AT&T.

I've just found a place in the world where I DON'T get Verizon service. I'm wondering if the iPhone would fix this.

Not sure about that. I believe such an announcement would most likely violate the Apple/AT&T contract.

What we are more likely to hear is something along the lines of this...

TheStreet.com: Apple tablet headed to Verizon?

I'm hoping that phone comes over. I'd be so excited. Looks coolerthan the standard one. Just hope they have a case for it like my DARE.

For those of you who have iphones and love the ATT service, I noticed you were in citites OTHER than San Fran.

The people having problems with ATT service are typically in the big metro areas, SF, NY etc. It's in that area than with the amount of iphone users (especially if they are using their iphones for web browsing, etc) are taking up much of the bandwidth and hence causing the overtaxed ATT service to be really crappy for everyone in general.

Both my wife and I have iphones and we live in SF. The reception on the iphones are the worst I've ever had on any phone I've ever had going back to the days when I carried a phone the size of a brick. There have been times I have been following the wife on the 101 freeway 8 miles south of SF and I can reach her cause both of our phones have no signal.

For calls, I usually just use my work blackberry.

I can't wait for the Google phone. I'm so ready to drop the iphone due to the poor ATT service.

Iphone 4 seems like a forgone conclusion for next week - they almost have to to slow the Android train down a bit, most analysts agree with this.

One person I know says the specs will be revealed for sure, the hardware "may" there is some glitches apparently to be worked on still.

Apple stating that the new phone will have a cdma compatible chip or LTE or HSDPA + makes no promises but I expect them to say they are coming to VZW

Personally I traded up and got a droid - f the iphone I can make calls from my netbook on google voice too and all the other standard features. matter of fact I think I'm going to use my mac for target practice tommorrow.

some fun new "rumors" just 2 days out

Verizon is timing one of its retail manager briefings in what could be a sign of a partnership with Apple, an inside scoop claims. The carrier normally has a briefing early on in a quarter to "kick off" the season and detail future devices but has put this quarter's meeting on the 27th, the same day as Apple's special event. Moreover, the company is also asking managers to watch a "live webcast" that will start at 1PM Eastern, the same time as Apple is set to begin its presentation at the Yerba Buena Center.
A chance exists that the timing is coincidental, but it comes on the back of numerous rumors of talks for Verizon 3G on a tablet and less certain talk of a Verizon iPhone. Either may depend on using dual-mode chipsets from Qualcomm that could provide 3G and (on the iPhone) calling for both AT&T and Verizon.
