Unlocked phones for MetroPcs?

Anyone have an unlocked phone for MetroPcs? I have seen a lot of the verizon phones can be unlocked to work with MetroPcs including free internet. Anyone gone this route? I have been thinking about a new phone.

roommate found a blackberry like 96xx in a grochery store, already reported lost so it was useless for verizon.
there is a guy in florida who works for metro, you can ship him the phone and he charges like $60 and he puts the esn on the metro network so texts and pics and internet works, the blackberry apps dont get internet but the browser works.
seems like metro has some legal issues with flashing phones, wouldnt allow picture messaging, not that they couldnt do it, just legalities?!? but seems there are more than a few who work for metro and will do all the steps if you ship the phone to florida.
maybe whatever law doesnt apply or they cannot be tried for it there?

Edit: as of a few months ago metro is no longer flashing verizon phones in the stores
