'Field' testing a dSLR camera carrier system

Recorded a tongue-in-cheek 'field' test of the Cotton Carrier Camera Systems vest/holster system (see: http://www.cottoncarrier.com):

That said, it's actually a very nice product for you SLR users who do a lot of walking and photography, but get neck/shoulder strain from traditional neck straps. I haven't actually used it on a photo walk, yet, but I plan on hitting the SD WAP or SD Zoo sometime during the holiday break. So after that, I can give a more thorough user experience feedback/review of the Cotton Carrier system.

I finally got around to completing a write-up of the Cotton Carrier:

I frequently browse the Canon Forums and a few weeks ago stumbled upon a thread discussing the Cotton Carrier vest made by Cotton Carrier Camera Systems (CCCS). The second I saw it on the Canon For…

Question for you about the holster, the CottonCarrier.com website leaves a little info out. I want to know if I can fit this over my Backpack Belt. I usually use a drop in bag but it forces me to leave my gps unit detatched.

What is the maximum size belt (height) that will fit through the holster?

              Thanks

Excellent question. When I get back home and get a chance to measure, I'll be sure to post here.

Hozr: Following up to your inquiry. Theoretically, you can use a belt as wide as 7". Here are some photos:

Note how it's velcroed in two places, and if you happen to use a 7" thick belt, that outer velcro flap can secure it.

Just an FYI, the outer piece of the Think Tank Pro Steroid Speed Belt that I use for the holster is 2-5/8". And that holds well.
