IFO files

I looked at some files on a DVD and it seems the .IFO files map the relevant audio and video files to the different titles and chapters in a video. Does anyone know where in the IFO file the data for the audio is kept and what it's format is? I see a bunch of numbers and some titles, but I can't make out where in the IFO file there is a pointer to some .VOB file containing the audio. I have some video files on my computer that don't have any audio and I'm trying to figure out whether the .VOB files are corrupted or if the .IFO files are looking for the wrong files.

The audio (if it exist) is in the video file. The ifo file is kind of like an index for the order to play chapters and general set up like subtitles, etc.

If you are looking at a dvd structure and noticing that the AUDIO_TS folder is empty (and therefore wondering where your sound is), don't worry about it. That's always empty.

Maybe it's just a codec problem?

I'd read the file with g-spot and see if it's a missing codec issue. Read the larger files.

One final idea. Maybe it's your player?
You could always try VLC which playes just about anything.
