    Facebook pages

What's the deal with a company having a facebook page? I'm having trouble picturing how it brings in new revenue. Current customers (or more accurately people who know of the company already) can become fans, and read status updates, but that's about it it seems like.

It costs nothing and creates a social media presence. The page can alert fans (customers) to events, sales, etc.

Friends of those who have become a 'fan' will see the company. That's some free advertising.

        F*CK FACEBOOK!

        Here, try this.....

Post a picture of your new rifle on your Facebook wall. Nothing crazy, no pic's depicting you shooting the firearm or in a threatening pose. Just a picture of your new rifle on top of your dinning table to show your like-minded friends your new toy and to see what they may think of it. Innocent enough, right?

Well, not to the people who run Facebook. I haven't read a policy against this or spoken to anyone at Facebook about this, but it's pretty freakin' obvious. What will happen is that within 30 minutes (maybe an hour) of you posting the pic's up they will no longr be able to be seen on your wall. Oh, they'll still show up on your "profile", but they will have been removed from your "public" wall. I have had this happen to me three time now and one of my friends at least once.

        Go ahead and try it
